Description

IC405 also named SH2-229, Caldwell 31 or "flaming star nebula" is an emission and reflection nebula surrounding the bluish star AE Aurigae. This hot star has an emission pic in the blue light which is reflected in some dusty areas around.

I did not have an OIII filter, but I think it is not necessary, the bluish part of the nebula is reflection not OIII emission. I decided not to take the Ha layer as an L layer but to merge R and Ha in a "SuperRed" layer (it is not a simple addition yet).

This very famous nebula was like a curse for me. At least four attempts, every time something went wrong in the last three years. My last attempt for a full colour was on January 9th but after the Ha subs, clouds were arriving while weather forecast was clear for all the night. I desperately took RGB subs at full Moon end of february...after my laptop rebooted for a sudden Window update when the R was just finished...

Hope nothing wrong will happen when I finally exhibit it here... ;-)
