Description

I was able to grab some RGB data (between the clouds) to go along with data from my last Rosette post (where I had creative fun with the palate).  So I believe it qualifies to be posted as a new image.  The Rosette is in good imaging position now...we should be seeing many images of this incredible nebula.  It must have been one heck of a supernova!

This image is fairly straightforward SHO but with RGB stars.  It's probably my best attempt at combining RGB stars to date.  I spent a lot of time tweaking different deconvolution setting on the Ha channel.  I might have overdone that a bit.  I used several de-noise methods including a tad of Topaz.  It's a "pretty" picture, but I found it enjoyable to process (probably 6+ times from scratch) and am happy with the results especially with the detail using the WO 81gt.

I got a sky meter from Santa!  the reading last night with no moon was between 18 and 18.7 which equates to bortle 7.  All this time I thought my backyard was a bortle 6.

Been raining and cloudy in So Cal for weeks.  The snow pack in the Sierra's is setting records for the month of December...a really good thing.  Bring it on!
