Description

Sun in Ha, AR3190, 4 panel Mosaic - 20230121

Creating a full sun-mosaic, built from detailed panels, is proving a bit more difficult than anticipated. The difference with moon mosaics is that it’s difficult to keep your bearings when you scroll over the sun surface. The moon is scattered with reference points, ie. Craters, and although the sun has sunspots, there’s a lot less of them and the rest of the surface is just a big ocean of flames.

And they are difficult to match in the stitching process. Although I made many panels, stitching them in Adobe PhotoMerge is proving too difficult. As I mentioned before, I need to look into PTGui. I hope that one will be able to do the trick

One decent mosaic of the region covering AR3191-AR3192, 4 panels, inverted (a small processing artefact at the left bottom of one panel that I decided to keep - didn't want to crop more away, as it was already difficult enough to get these to stitch together)

Anybody has any experience in creating solar mosaics?
