Description

An "ok" image, but I was trying to capture both the Apollo 11 and Apollo 16 landing sites. Taken Nov 22nd, of 2020. Of course, A11 was in Mare Tranquillitatis as marked and A16 landed in the Decartes highlands to the south west, some 378km away (~228miles). If one uses Ritter and Sabine as landmarks, you can just "leapfrog" to Delambre, then to Taylor A, and then hop to the two small, almost innocuous craters Lindsay and Dolland B. Just run the down to the two white specks and just beyond them is where A16 landed. Personally, I find A16 and A17 the harder of the landing sites to photograph so far, I think because of the surrounding soil and the prevailing sunlight can "blow out" the area. I'll shoot it again - next time! Taken with a QHY5II178M camera, using the C11, on the CGE mount. 4000 frames in Firecapture, best 20% stacked and processed in PSCC.
