Description

The Clamshell Nebula has a pearl!  should have named this the Oyster Nebula.   This seldom imaged nebula is a large complex of emission nebulosity in Cygnus constellation, about 2 degrees east of the North American Nebula. The pearl is 68 Cygni, mag 5.   It lies in a rich star field which I reduced significantly...to bring out the nebula.

This image is RGB with blended Ha.  No luminance.  Shot over 2 nights at my dark site, bortle 3-4.  Proved to be a difficult target to process for me.  I will work on using Ha as luminance and post as a revision for comparison.
