The Rosette Nebula (C49), an emission nebula located in Constellation Monoceros, is 5,200 light-years away from Earth and about 130 light-years in diameter. Stellar winds from the stars in the core have swept out the gas and dust and created the hollow at the center of the Rosette. The hollow measures about 30 light-years in diameter.
