Taking pictures at f/2 or f/1.9 is a great thing. The Hyperstar turns a F/10 SC Celestron into a Schmidt camera that's 25 times faster, making every astrophotographer's heart beat faster!
In contrast to the RASA cameras, the SC telescopes can still be used visually. Another invaluable advantage is the compact overall length of the Hyperstar system - no long levers, that makes the life easier.
Hyperstar exchange inevitably means a new collimation. However, HoTech's innovative laser collimator allows exact Hyperstar collimation, which does not require a starry sky and can be comfortably carried out in real time, even with bad weather conditions.
The effort is necessary and worthwhile, because the collimation is long-term stable.
The exact line-up of the collimator is critical, difficult, essential for the success, and needs 90% of the time. The collimation itself is fun, easy, and fast to accomplish.

The first test of the Hyperstar v4 after collimation on the real starry sky was checked on the same night on a defocused star. The result was perfect.
Now I am waiting for a clear night to pick up the first light. Everything stays very exciting…
