Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is located 370 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +11 degrees.  It spans 45 arc-seconds in our apparent view, which corresponds to a width of 80,000 light years.

This object looks like a pair of galaxies, one white and one blue, with a star stream bridge connecting them.  The pair could be at the start of the merger process.

At least 5 other galaxies are seen in the background.  The orange galaxy at top left (IC 1485) is the same distance away as NGC 7638, but the other orange galaxy just to its right (IC 1484) is twice as far away.
