Description

IC 2118 (also known as Witch-Head Nebula due to its shape) is an extremely faint reflection nebula believed to be an ancient supernova remnant or gas cloud illuminated by nearby supergiant star Rigel in the constellation of Orion. This target has several spiral galaxies including NGC 1752 and others. I gave it 180sec exposures, at 120 gain, 0°C, and grabbed 62 lights, 20 new darks, and 30 new flats to produce this stacked image from DSS and processed in Pixinsight.

WO Z73 doublet apo on the GEM28 mount with GPS, FF FR 0.8x, ZWO 120mm guide Cam and ZWO 294MC Pro main camera, L enhance filter, ASI Air Pro with the wifi extender and the Dew heater straps, all running on Jackery 550 and 290.
