Description

This object is a tiny planetary nebula located 3,000 light-years away in the constellation of Cygnus. Most backyard refractors are not useful to image deep sky objects less than one arc-minute in diameter. But this object is very bright, in fact it is the brightest planetary nebula in the Milky Way. So despite the fact that this object is only 15 arc-seconds wide, the same dimension as Saturn, it is still possible to obtain a crude image. This object's true dimension is very small for a planetary nebula, only about 0.2 light years wide, which means that it is an extremely young nebula (estimated at 600 years old).
