Description

The Double Cluster is a pair of star clusters visible to the naked eye in the constellation Perseus approximately 7500 light years away. The clusters are relatively young at about 12 million years old and each contain over 300 blue-white super-giant stars. The two star clusters are blue-shifted, meaning they are approaching Earth at a velocity of about 39km/s.
