Description

Wanted to take a quick crack at the incredibly faint O3 region of the squid nebula in the large Ha cloud of Sh2-129. I was trialing bin 1x1 and 2x2 data with the RASA which is already slightly under sampled with my ASI 1600.

In the end, I combined my 1x1 Ha data with 3 min 2x2 binned O3 data. The data is quite noisy and will need another attempt to really give due justice to this incredible nebula. I used an HOO palette with R = Ha., G =.8 O3 +.2 Ha, B = 03. to give more of an orange color to the hydrogen gas cloud similar to a modified Hubble palette.

The Squid Nebula is a quite faint O3 nebula was discovered in 2011.  The nebula is an estimated 2,300 light years from earth and approximately 50 light years across.
