Description

I purchased this really inexpensive Orion 120mm f/5 achromat at the beginning of my involvement in this avocation. Sure, there are plenty of flaws inherent but still, really easy to use and I think it can make good images in the right, hands... probably not mine, lol...

Additionally, I wanted to use the CCD camera with the 8300 chip which I believe has led to some undersampling. So I did drizzle it n DSS. I did get some Oiii data too, but not enough and not good enough either. Quite a struggle to process in general.

IC63 along with IC59 are located in Cassiopeia approximate 550ly distant. They are considered both emission and reflection nebulae with most of the energy coming from Gamma Cass which is located several light years from these nebulae. That illustrates the immense power of Gamma Cas.

The foregoing information obtained from "Hubble News".
