Description

Another image I collected data on during my SoCal stay this summer/fall. It feels far away and the warmth of those nights is a faint memory.
Almost a full month passed since back in Canada and I have not seen one clear night. Honestly my gear is still packed in my travel box. I have not touched it...
The weather is a good excuse taking time to exercise with PixInsight. So much to learn...

The Heart Nebula, IC 1805 is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is approximately 7500 LY away from Earth in the Perseus arm of our Galaxy.
The nebula's center houses an open cluster with several large bright stars nearly 50 times the mass of the Sun designated Melotte 15.
The brightest part of the nebula, located in the western part, NGC 896 also known as the Fishhead Nebula, was first discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787.
