Description

"The Iris Nebula (also known as NGC 7023 and Caldwell 4) is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The designation NGC 7023 refers to the open cluster within the larger reflection nebula designated LBN 487.

The nebula, which shines at magnitude +6.8, is illuminated by a magnitude +7.4 star designated SAO 19158.It is located near the Mira-type variable star T Cephei, and near the bright magnitude +3.23 variable star Beta Cephei (Alfirk). It lies 1,300 light-years away and is six light-years across".

Another capture/process from my five night spree last week.
I feel like a kid in a candy shop after 4 months of bad skies!
The second of three data sets.

2X Drizzle in Pixinsight.

I like some dustiness, but not an overpowering amount. Dust is tough to capture in Bortle 7 skies (for me), so I was happy to settle on the mild dark background dust.

Title: Complete Reprocess

Description: Started with a new run of WBPP with very careful background extraction so not to disturb the dust.
Also used a new (to me) Pixinsight process called "ExponentialTransformation" which was very helpful in bringing out the dusty areas.
I had rotated the original process, so I also rotated this process for comparison.
I am normally not a "dusty" guy, but this process is interesting!
Enjoy, and comments welcome!
