Description

Messier 98 (M98 or NGC 4192) is a magnitude 11 spiral galaxy in the constellation of Coma Berenices.It is about 44 million light years away from us. M98 is a member of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies.

Optics: Meade LX200R-14 at f/10

Mount: Paramount ME

Camera/Filters: Apogee Alta U8300 FLI CFW-2-7 FLI Filters

Guiding: guidescope

Exposure: Luminance: 24x5 minutes binned 2x2, R:6x5 min G:8x4 min B:7x6 min all binned 3x3 for a total of 3.7 hours, 45 subs at 300 sec each

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing using Photoshop.
