Description

Simeis 147 is a 40,000 year old supernova remnant. It is about 3,000 light years from Earth and covers about 3 degrees in the sky.

This is a 4-panel mosaic. The object is very dim and was a struggle to process! I had to crop tigher than I wanted in the color version due to a reflection from a nearby bright star in my O3 subs. I was hoping for a better result but it is a very difficult object.
