Description

The Witch Head nebula is an extremely faint reflection nebula believed to be an ancient supernova remnant or gas cloud illuminated by nearby supergiant star Rigel. It lies in the Orion constellation, about 900 light-years from Earth. The nature of the dust particles, reflecting blue light better than red, is a factor in giving the Witch Head its blue color. Here's my attempt on this faint target, while getting more and more familiar with the lens. I've decided to throw out the LP filters and use a standard UV/IR cut filter. I've also decided to keep the Samyang wide open at F2.

Clear skies and stay safe!
