Description

VBD152 or Barnard 175 is a blue reflection nebula on the tip of a dark nebula LDN1217. The red arc stretching across the image is supernova remnant arc SNR 110.3+11 with planetary nebula PN G111.0+11.6 near the right. I've collected close to 30 hours of exposure time for this object since starting this project last October. There are a few hours of 5 minute Ha subs I didn't end up using since I've replaced them with 10 minutes ones instead. This year I'm mainly interested in revisiting 10 hour projects I already have and driving them deeper. Taking this object from 10 to 27.5 hours helped reveal significantly more color and fine detail all around the image. Continuum Subtraction was used to add Ha to the R channel. Spectrophotometry–based Color Calibration was used to further calibrate the RGB channels. Deconvolution in the form of BlurXTerminator was applied to both RGB channels and Luminance separately before the final image combination.
The image was captured over the course of 6 nights between October 2022 until now.
