Description

94 or the Cats Eye Galaxy in Canis Venatici, about 16 million light years away, is at the center of a group of 20 galaxies. It has 2 ring structures - One inner and a fainter outer region visible in this image. As Dr. Becky explains in her excellent video on Youtube, 25% of this galaxy's mass is concentrated in these rings. Last month, I had chance to venture out in Bortle 3 zone and I carried my 8" Edge HD to image this galaxy after finding the interesting structures surrounding it.
