Description

Neptune, Uranus, and Venus. Captured September 9th, August 19th, and May 13th 2023, respectively. Venus is extremely bright and as I am shooting with a color camera I will never get cloud bands or other features. Uranus was easy to find and shoot, and I am pleased with how that photo turned out. Neptune was more of a challenge due to its distance. It is smaller and fainter. The seeing was also not great on this particular night. Nevertheless I am happy with how the color really showed up on this. The 678 is a tremendous camera and everything I hoped it could be. Low noise, high resolution. This capture essentially concludes what has been a remarkably successful summer for me with my new telescope, although I will continue to target Jupiter when I have the opportunity. Other goals & learning ambitions include the Orion Nebula, Mars, and a composite photo of the moon. I may travel to Missouri next year to assist my brother-in-law with a photo of the eclipse, although it will be difficult to make the arrangements.
