Sunspots (20230715) - Golden Gate BridgeWhile
AR13363's impressive sunspots (lower right) are still the stars on stage, with their former fragile light bridge evolved into a (sort of)
Golden Gate Bridge, bold and bright, the next actors request attention:
AR13372!This
active region is rather big, currently located in the upper left part of the solar disk. It has already exposed two big sunspots, the
eastern (right) one being almost round in shape with a strong
penumbra and the one on the
west (left) side being of
chaotic structure. In addition there are many small spots between the two and also spread around in their neighborhood.
Also, two new
active regions got their numbering:
AR13373 left below the former shows several
sunspots in a row, accompanied by meandering torches, nicely visible in the edge darkening of the
Sun. Finally
AR13374 appeared, currently showing only one small sunspot also placed in a torch region near the
Sun's
western (left) edge.
NB: From
AR13363 I made a tiny
ROI capture of
10000 frames with
FireCapture, only
144x140px wide but with
330fps ... just out of curiosity. I integrated this
SER video with a
3x drizzle in PSS and later scaled it up to a 480px wide GIF animation with
ffmpeg - simply because I liked that appearance - due to the lack of a bigger scope with much better resolution and higher magnification -
see version B.
