Description

NGC3718 and its companion galaxy NGC3729 along with Hickson Compact Group of Galaxies (HCG) 56.

From Wikipedia: "NGC 3718, also called Arp 214, is a galaxy located approximately 52 million light years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. It is either a lenticular or spiral galaxy. NGC 3718 has a warped, s-shape. This may be due to gravitational interaction between it and NGC 3729, another spiral galaxy located 150,000 light-years away."

HCG 56 (aka ARP 232) are the 5 interacting galaxies above NGC3718. These are quite small for amateur scopes. Would love to see a closeup with the GWST.

I spent a lot of time experimenting with the post-processing on this one, backtracking multiple times. I had previously applied the luminance layer in Siril, but have found it better to process it separately, particularly when doing RGB in bin4 and L in bin2. If the final color palette looks odd, it's probably related to my being R/G color blind.
