Description

RCW 89 is an emission nebula containing a supernova remnant SNR 320.4-01.0 and the polar B2509-58 which is one of the youngest known pulsars in our galaxy.

The pulsar is spinning around 7 times/second. and  shapes the expanding supernova remnant with its energetic winds.  Fascinating region!

It was a real challenge to process, the fine detail and dense star field were hard to balance out! Starless, it is spectacular!

Imaged in HOO RGB on the Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile. Credit to Mike Selby for collecting the data for this rare one!
