Description

This is another installment of my unending quest of testing camera optics for night-time photography. This time is the old workhorse 35mm f/2 from Nikon. Tested at f/2 gave signficant spherical aberration (i.e., halos) as well as coma galore all over the place. Stopped down, however, its another story. SA is gone and astigmatic coma is well contained, with nearly the full central circle well corrected. From there on,  the lens shows a right-leaning well controlled coma growth up to the furtherest corner of the image as well as astigmatic field curvature.
