I initially planned to combined my data with my 294mc and 2600 mc from two different years, but atlas the gradient with the 294 data prevented that combination. I tried using APP for the first time to merge the data sets, but still failed to gain the result I was looking for. I really enjoy looking back at the progress of image from previous versions to see how equipment and processing tools provide a greater and greater opportunity to image dark and dusty nebula.
This dark cloud is located within the larger Taurus molecular cloud roughly 430 light years form earth.. The nebula itself has IC 2087 at it's center which is a reflection nebulae that looks like a small flame. The flame is being illuminated by a star within or behind the thick dust of the dark nebulae giving its reddish orange hue. From the orientation, I see a dark majestic dragon landing on a perch. My perspective may be biased having watched the How to Drain Your Dragon movies and series entirely too many time with our kids.
