Description

In the Solar Storm of May 10/24 we found ourselves under a sky where the entire sphere or bowl (north to south, east to west) was shimmering with light.

In this image, I managed to capture the rapid formation of a series of very tall pickets.  Most of the picket fence style aurora we see under less violent solar events are mainly green in colour and much smaller.  These were 4x - 6x taller than average.

Thanks for reading to the bottom!

P.S.  A few nuggets from NASA.gov
