Description

Hello again friends,

In this short series of stills,  I am attempting to put together a short animation of the fantastic aurora of May 10/24.

Camera - Canon 60D (modified with an UV/IR filter replacing the stock filter)
6 sec exposure, ISO 800
Rokinon 10 mm lens F2.8 (manual, prime)
This image shot stepped down to F4 - focussed on the moon before imaging

+++++++++++

The view from Sandilands park - about 45 min east of our city.  It was impossible to do usual AP.

We could see the aurora (over the entire bowl of sky, north to south), before it was fully dark eg, a few minutes after sunset.

Please forgive the choppiness of this video.. essentially my first trial at assembling an mp4 file.   I think it does convey some of ebb and flow of what we saw in real time.
