Description

Messier 22 a.k.a NGC 6656 an elliptical globular cluster ~10,600 light-years away and ~50 light-years across in Sagittarius. One of the first discovered globular clusters and one of four globular clusters to contain a planetary nebula. It is estimated it contains 5 to 100 black holes, which may explain its unusually large core ~4 light-years across.

LRGB 7h (4x300s) from CHI-1 Telescope, a Planewave CDK24 with QHY600M camera, and Astrodon 2nd GEN LRGB filters, situated in the Rio Hurtado Valley, Chile. Part of the telescope.live telescope network. Taken on 11-14 August 2023.
