Description

Finally, I get to post data of my own, from my backyard in Rutland Massachusetts. It has been hard to find nights sufficiently clear to acquire sufficient data, but here is some.
In this case, I wanted to highlight the awesome textures of this region of Monoceros in the SHO palette, and while my principal software is PixInsight, Now I ventured into other ways of highlighting the textures of the ionized gases and dust, so patent in this region. For this, I used Topaz Denoise and 3D LUT creator in a starless image, after my regular workflow in PI. Then, I added the stars back. Note that I reduced the volume of the stars a lot, which was necessary to avoid pesky dark rings around them. The result is stars that to my taste are a bit too reduced (although all the stars captured are still there). I have to find a way of making this star reduction a bit less profound, perhaps in a revision. Any tips are welcome! I appreciate how kind members of astrobin are, always being so positive. However, I appreciate constructive criticism, even though I realize that I am transgressing a bit  the boundary between what is "real (whatever that is)", and my aesthetic sense. I think I need help in my stars, which after reduction always look "flat" despite trying multiple gradient parameters. I feel stars should have more "volume", but I do not yet know how to do this, despite being an Adam Block fan. I am particularly impressed by the stars of Astrobin  Fellow, Robonrome (https://www.astrobin.com/users/robonrome/). Please send me tips if you have any!
