Description

At this focal length, Sh2-115 looks a little different than the other images I've seen of the region - the long straight striations of nebulosity are just out-of-frame. The SII data supplied with this dataset was pretty faint, and the OIII was mostly the halo around a few of the stars, and ended up creating some interesting problems when combined (crazy purple halo!) After experimenting with both SHO and Foraxx, Foraxx won by a landslide. the RGB stars re-screened into it very nicely, and for some reason I always prefer the hydrogen to be red.

Sh2-115 is an emission nebula illuminated by stars in the Berkely 90 cluster, and was imaged in July & August 2021 by the RASC Robotic Telescope. This was a really nice dataset with nearly 40 hours over many nights in July & August - many thanks to the RASC imaging team for capturing this data!
