Its source Type II supernova exploded approximately 11,000–12,300 years ago (and was about 800 light-years away).
On the right, and part of the Vela SNR, the Pencil Nebula (NGC 2736) can be recognized.

This 2-panel HOO-image is acquired with the Takahashi FSQ-106ED refractor and FLI PL16803 camera from Telescope Live in Heaven's Mirror Observatory, Australia.

Total exposure 305 minutes.
Panel 1: 15 subs of 450s with H-alpha and OIII
Panel 2: 4 subs of 600s with H-alpha and OIII

Processing with AstroPixelProcessor, Photoshop CC with AstroPanel V4.2, Astronomy Tools, Topaz Sharpen AI and Denoise Projects 3 plug-ins.
