Description

NGC 4314 is a galaxy I stumbled upon when looking at nearby NGC 4274.  NGC 4314 is about 31.6 mly from Earth, and is situated in Coma Berenices.  At magnitude 10.6 it is an easier DSO to photograph, however the fainter defuse spiral arms in the shape of an "S" I found more challenging to bring out without the use of any filters (using an OSC).  It is a tantalizing and unique galaxy.

Hubble's view is spectacular (of course!):  https://esahubble.org/images/opo9821b/
