Description

I initially assumed that NGC 1808 was a one-arm spiral, but looking more closely, I see that there are two arms with one being much weaker.  The core is rich with dark dust lanes and a few seem to shoot up and away from the core, perpendicular to the plane of rotation.  I have not seen any description of this in commentary on this galaxy.  I will shoot a little Ha just to see if maybe these are anomalous arms like we see in M106.

What I found most interesting was the dense field of background galaxies.  Painfully, many more little galaxies were lost to my crop, but I wanted to feature the main galaxy up close.  I was particularly fond of this pair which appear to be interacting:

If anyone gets some time on Hubble please gather some data on these two
