Description

I’ve missed out on seeing the northern lights so many times, typically from clouds obscuring the view, that I had begun to refer to it as my unicorn. When I saw the initial forecast for the first night of the aurora in West Michigan I suspected I was in for another disappointment. Boy am I glad I was wrong! Despite the forecast the clouds stayed away or remained thin enough for us to see the spectacular show. I’m very thankful I was able to share it with my Wife and boys as well after I pulled them out of bed. My oldest son Ben stayed up with me for a while and watched, making the experience something I’ll never forget.

My sister shared that my niece referred the spectacle as Unicorn Sky which is now forever what I’ll think of when thinking about the northern lights.
