I've been trying to get these files to stitch for over 4 days now and I can't seem to make it work. Can maybe someone give it a shot to just stitch them together?

I'd be suuper thankful. I'm at the end of my nerves with this project because of this.

In about a half hour I'll have a google drive link for you because that's how long it's gonna take to upload. Would've been done quicker but I had a bit of trouble plate solving.

Here's the cropped mosaic: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12FfDm93XVrtDH4WwEu5b_T5a3nYWhe_u/view?usp=drive_link
Note that:
1. The WCS info was wrong by a country mile (frame centers and resolution) 2. Unproperly stacked frames so I had to crop a bit 3. Residual gradients had to be corrected 4. ColorCalibration was applied to get a balanced chroma space
Enjoy it

There you go. GradientMergeMosaic won't work unless you clean up A LOT the source images. Funnily enough, I didn't ask for your opinion.

Enjoy it Wow just like that? this is amazing!!!! thank you so much.
how did you correct the WCS Data to make it right? and how did you know the right numbers to put in?
This is incredible I was working on that for suuch a long time and couldn't make it work at all.

Glad to be of help. For the necessary info to put into the ImageSolver script go stright to astrometry.net and get the frames center coords and image scale which you need to feed in into the script. Their blind solver nearly never ever fails.

Their blind solver nearly never ever fails. Sorry for this noob question but what do I need to do to make it work? Which coordinates do I need to put where?
So I went to astrometry.net to solve the image and get the coordinates. what do I need to do with which coordinates to make it work? this is something I know literally nothing about, it's kinda difficult to grasp right now. I really want to know what I did wrong, to get it right next time.

The information shown here:
This needs in the same box in the script. Instead of using the minus sign to indicate southern declinations you'll have to tick the box nearby the Dec data boxes showing S.
The image scale is given here: |

The image scale is given here: is all that needed to be changed and it just worked flawlessly? how did you stitch the photos together? What settings did you use for the Mosaic by coordinates script? with the standard settings it always gets screwed up when I do it, especially the upper pane, it gets distorted.

Yes indeed. After solving and reminding that I had already cleaned up the two frames and removed the gradients BEFORE stitching them together. Moasaic by Coordinates would be the next step and as far as I recall, yes, with the default settings. Panel-1 was the reference as I recall. Finally I stitched them together with PhotometricMosiac, again Panel-1 was the reference and with all the default setting (using average blending).

Process your frames with your current workflow...
I know everyone has been giving feedback with using PI to stitch the frames. But, if you want a simple solution that works inside and outside the Astrophotography sphere. Save your frames as Jpeg's and use ICE (image composite editor) from Microsoft to stitch the frames... you can save the mosaic as a Tiff or JPEG.
It's not PI, but, i can't find the seam in my mosaics... have used it on 2 and 4 panel mosaics without problems...

CS Tim But don't you have to process you panes exactly the same way in order to merge them afterwards? I mean with Jpeg you can't really do much editing. I really want to have the whole mosaic infront of me so I can see the impact the editing has on the whole image.

I really want to have the whole mosaic infront of me so I can see the impact the editing has on the whole image. Like i mentioned, this is a quick solution. Its not a replacement for sliced bread. I typically process my frames at the same time with the knowledge that they will be part of a mosaic. I keep the histograms close. (Backgrounds, color balance, noise reduction, etc). ICE does do a mild histogram adjustment after combining the panels. I have finished processing each panel with ICE / Stitching as the final step. Many paths to same destination. If not, everyone would still be mired in Deconvolution vs BXT...
CS Tim
PS. Saw this thread at work today. I will download the panels and give it a go tonight.

This is what my Mosaic by coordinates results look like every single time, doesn't matter if I change parameters. what am I doing wrong. I'm using the same files that I sent you |

Did you plate-solved them OK? Also, did you crop them to remove the messy borders?

This is my effort using ICE with all processing done to each frame prior to stitching with ICE...
Standard PI RGB workflow with BXT, NXT and SXT. I did the old ColorCalibration because I was too lazy to plate solve for SPCC, sorry. This is a nice image. Good data. Nicely framed. I wish I could image this area but I have a terrible southern horizon from the backyard Observatory. Maybe a road trip to one of the southern star parties will provide an opportunity.
