On my scope, in addition to the stop washer there is a split ring on the baffle that will stop the mirror, it stops the mirror but I'm not sure that's the purpose it was intended for.   It's not obvious but I found it by looking in the front of the telescope with a penlight and running the focus back and forth.  CCW moved the mirror out and stopped near the ring around the baffle inner cylinder.  The mirror needed to move up the baffle more, and stop at the split ring. One concern,  'will the mirror move the ring  with enough pressure?', I don't know so I have my EAF set to stop there. Also, with the Televue SCT adapter the reducer is  practically as close as you can get to the top of the OTA threads, that helps a little.

Good luck getting yours to work.  Also, it's good to keep in mind,  I'm modifying my scope without any manual or tech guidance, so I may end up with damaged scope, it's a risk.  You may be more comfortable  just going with the Celestron reducer.

Thanks for the comment on the Pacman, my two most recent images are also with the same setup.

This is where I landed. I have given up on the Starizona Corrector. It will not come to focus no matter how close it is to the scopes optics. So I will sell that piece to someone who has a more recent C8. Apparently, they do not work on C8s of the Orange Tube era. There are a lot of great reviews on the Starizona piece just doesn't work for me.

The Celestron 6.3 Corrector/Reducer had no problem reaching focus.
