Description

M77, a.k.a NGC 1068 or the Squid Galaxy, a barred spiral galaxy of class (R)SA(rs)b ~47 million light-years away in Cetus. Originally cataloged as a star cluster by Messier and Herschel, it is one of the biggest galaxies in that catalog. 

LRGB 10h 40m (34:30:31:33x300s) from CHI-1, a Planewave CDK24 with QHY600M camera, and Astrodon 2nd GEN LRGB filters, situated in the Rio Hurtado Valley, Chile. Part of the telescope.live telescope network. Taken on multiple dates in Aug and Sep 2023.
