Description

The original photo was my first attempt at imaging the Bode's & Cigar galaxies with a stock mirrorless & kit lens from my urban backyard (45min integration, Bortle 9, DSS, Affinity Photo).
The revision is first light from my SVX102T with an EOS RP mirrorless, from a site bordering between urban and suburban (50min integration, Bortle 6-ish, PixInsight).

The revision is boasting its full, dirty glory, which I think was due to movement of dust motes on the sensor between light and flat frames. Maybe some mishandling of the calibration acquisition or preprocessing as well. When using lenses in the urban backyard, I'd never exposed long enough under a dark enough sky to see all my sensor dust. But oohhh boy, the newer full-resolution file looks like it was peppered with a shotgun blast. Mostly cleared up the issue with a rocket blower, and it's time to practice flats exposure and actually taking them at the same time as the lights.

Still getting the hang of proper calibration frame acquisition and data handling in PixInsight, but all in due time.
