Description

Called Pūtara in New Zealand, Betelgeuse is a red supergiant and often considered the tenth brightest star. In the summer month of February Betelgeuse appears in the northwest about 40 degrees above the horizon at sunset, then gradually descends toward the western horizon until it sets around 4:00am.
