Description

This picture portraits two different deep-sky objects, a globular cluster NGC 6712 and a planetary nebula IC 1295 in the constellation Scutum, the Shield.

The bluish, turquoise colored planetary nebula IC 1295 is approximately 4,700 light-years from Earth. The globular cluster NGC 6712 is 26,400 light-years from Earth and 12 billion years old. 

This image was acquired with the Planewave CDK24 telescope and FLI PL09000 CCD-camera from Telescope Live in El Sauce Observatory, Chile.
FOV 32' x 32' (0.68"/px)

Total integration time 240 minutes. LRGB 12 subs of 300s.
