Description

109 minutes. My 2nd astrophotography image. Some moonlight and wind.

PixInsight Process:
 1. Create a folder called Processing and then a folder called RAW in that folder.
    a. Place lights, darks, flats and bias images into the RAW folder.
 2. Process - Blink
    a. Load all lights.
    b. Uncheck and image that is bad.
    c. Select all checked files and move into a goodlights folder inside the raw folder.
 3. Process - Subframeselector - Add all goodlights.
    Measure Subframes
    a. Camera resolution = 12-bit.
    b. Directory = goodsubframes (inside raw folder).
    c. Click apply global.
    Measurements
    a. Filter by FWHM - X the most exaggerated peaks and valleys.
    b. Filter by Stars - X the most exaggerated valleys.
    c. Filter by PSD SNR - X the most exaggerated peaks and valleys.
    Output subframes
    a. Click apply global.
 4. Script - Batch Processing - WeightedBatchProcessing.
    a. Add all bias, dark, flast, and goodsubframes.
    b. Output Directory = Directory just before raw.
    c. Run - Continue
    d. Once finished open the autocopped image found in the master folder.
 5. Process - DynamicBackgroundExtraction
    a. Sample Generation - Default sample radius = 20.
    b. Sample Generation - Sample color = hot pink.
    c. Sample Generation - Generate - Place 20 points on background areas only.
    d. Click around image setting othe background points.
    c. Target Image Correction - Correction = Subtraction.
    d. Clcik green check icon.
    e. Save the file in the processing folder as backgroundset.xisf.
 6. Process - ColorCalibration
    a. Create Preview 1 in a bright area and Preview 2 in a dark background area.
    b. White reference image = Preview 1.
    c. Background reference image = Preview 2.
    d. Structure Detection = uncheck.
    e. Apply.
 7. Process - PhotometricColorCalibration
    a. Apply
    b. Save file as colorcalibrated.xisf.
 8. Process - SCNR
    a. Amount = 0.5.
    b. Apply.
 9. Process - NoiseXterminator
    a. Apply.
    b. Save file as nonoise.xisf.
10. Proxess - StarXterminator
    a. Check Generate Star Image and Unscreen stars
    b. Apply.
    c. Save the DSO as dso.xisf and the stars as stars.xisf.
11. Process - HDRMultiScaleTransformation - Select DSO image    
    a, Check Median transform.
    n. Apply.
12. Process - MorphologicalTransformation - Select star image
    a. Size = 5, Circle icon.
    b. Apply.
13. Process - BlurXterminator = Select DSO image
    a. Sharpen Stars = 0
    b. Adjust Star Halos = 0
    c. Sharpen Nonsteller = 0.25
14. Process - PixelMath
    a. nonoise+nonoise_stars    
    b. Apply.    
15. Process - BlurXterminator - Defaults
16. Process - ScreenTransferFunction
    a. Stretch (Nuke icon)
    b. Process - HistogramTransformation
    c. Drag ScreenTranform triangle to bottom bar of Histogram.
    d. Drag Histogram triangle to image (it will turn white).
    e. ScreenTranform - Click nuke icon.
    f. Save image as stretched.xisf
17. Process - ColorSaturation
    a. Add 3 horizontal points and make a fluid lowecase m curve to the top
18. Procuss = CurveTranformation
    a. Dip center a slight to the bottom-right to darken.
    b. Save the file as done.xisf
