Description

The Trifid nebula (Messier 20) located around 5200 light years away in the constellation Sagittarius. As promised I've put together a composite featuring SHO narrowband data. Initially, I did an SHO as usual but it didn't feel "trifid enough" due to the lack of reflection nebulosity. So I decided to try my hand at combining SHO and LRGB to get the best of both and this is what I came up with. The surrounding blue reflection region is preserved while the central narrowband region displays the typical color scheme I aim for in the SHO palette.
