Description

A serendipitous catch of Comet 144P/Kushida as it passed close to Aldebaran and moved through the Hyades on 10 February.  The comet is seen to the lower right of Aldebaran in this very short exposure before the clouds rolled in to obscure the view.

Discovered in 1994, 144P/Kushida is a short-period comet with an orbit of 7.37 years.
