Yet another successful trip to the Bortle 3 site down south. Again utilizing the good old Samyang 135mm at F/2, paired with a Star Adventurer 2i and an unmodded (though, with a fainter H-a target such as Flaming Star, an astromodification would've done this image wonders) Canon T3i. I am forever grateful for the 135 F/2 lens, because of the images it can produce and the detail and light gathering that comes with the F/2, all for the price it comes at. It really saves amateur astrophotographers with a tight budget like myself, because you can still get phenomenal images at the price of a single refractor (even accounting for the mount and camera). This setup will definitely have to carry me through for a long time until I can put together a more expensive setup with deeper FOV's and more advanced tracking capability, but money's money. And until then, this setup will definitely be continuing to peer into the night sky as much as possible.

Title: StarXTerminator Saves the Day!

Description: For a while now, with the 135mm F/2 lens, I've been having issues with incredibly excessive star bloat. Very evident in my original edit. But now, with the use of StarXTerminator, and MANY thanks to the processing recommendations given by Jan Erik V also on Astrobin, I was able to VERY DRASTICALLY tame the star bloat by stretching the starless and star layers to different levels, now showcasing the nebulosity and surrounding dust in such a way I never thought possible with the first edit. I am glad I pulled the trigger on StarXTerminator, as it has elevated the potential of the 135mm F/2 lens to new heights I previously thought were untouchable.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
