Description

The high galactic cirrus is Apus can be a rewarding hunting ground for infrequently imaged DSOs. In the case, a lovely (but small) reflection nebula buried in the IFN.   I don't know what this one is called, so I will rely on my AB friends to help me out again. I couldn't find any other AB images centred on this object, although there are a few wide field images - including mine -  of the MW9 complex.

To me, ihe reflection nebula looks like the star is setting over a blue ocean.  Lots of faint galaxies can be seen, mostly obscured by the cirrus.   While not as dramatic as IC4633's justaposition against the same cirrus about 1degree away (see my previous image ), nevertheless it all adds to the sense of mystery to this part of  the sky.
