And now for something completely different!

While I was in awe of the pinkish hues earlier on in the evening, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a little disappointed that I was unable to capture any structure like I had seen in other images throughout the day/evening.

Regardless, I went ahead and set my camera to take 900 4s exposures at 6s intervals with the goal of doing a 30s time lapse. There was no structure that you could see anyway, so at least it wouldn't be exaggerated. With that I went to bed.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up and saw that the LAST picture my camera captured showed amazing color and structure unlike what I had seen while I was awake. When doing a time lapse where you just walk away and let your camera work, one of the worst things that can happen is getting really cool stuff at the very end of the time lapse because that just means if it ran longer you'd get even more cool stuff!

Anyway, the first ~600 images were pretty boring so here's a time lapse of the last 277 images which captured some spectacular things. And of course it ends just as things start to get interesting.
Oh and just for fun, I've added a single frame which captured a meteor. How about that?!
