Description

NGC 4567 and NGC 4568, nicknamed the Siamese Twins or Butterfly Galaxies, are a set of unbarred spiral galaxies about 60 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. They are part of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies.
These galaxies are in the process of colliding and merging with each other. Very close together, the galaxies don't seem to be too distorted yet by gravitational tides.
On top of this image one can see the elliptical galaxy NGC 4564.

This image was acquired with the Planewave CDK24 telescope and FLI PL09000 CCD-camera from Telescope Live in El Sauce Observatory, Chile.

Total integration time was only 60 minutes. More data, integration time in future will help to enhance details and color contrast...
LRGB 3 subs of 300s with each filter.
FOV 32' x 32' (0.68"/px)

Processing with AstroPixelProcessor and Photoshop CC with AstroPanel Pro, Astronomy Tools, Topaz Sharpen AI & Franzis Denoise Projects 3 plug-ins.
