Description

Hi,

For this spring day, this is one of the most famous object of the winter sky !
What's interesting with M45, definitely one of the most famous DSOs of the winter sky, is that it's also one of the oldest DSOs observed by the human kind.
We can find mention since Bronze Age. In the greek mythology, this cluster was named The Pleiades in reference to the seven daughters of the Titan Atlas, changed into doves to escape Orion the hunter.
Galileo was also maybe the first to see it through is telescope.

And yes, it's a beautiful target !

Clear sky !

David
