Description

Situated in the semi-remote solitude of a peninsula overlooking the ocean and the  port of Walvis Bay, a lighthouse breaks the horizon signalling that home is nearby. Situated at Pelican Point, this round cast iron 34 meter tall lighthouse was opened by the South African government in 1932. It overlooks the area teeming with birds that jostle for attention along with thousands of seals and bottlenose dolphins. A dilapidated pier and remnants of a small boat are other elements of photographic interest here. Just below the lighthouse is the Pelican Point lodge hotel, and a room here will set u back by around 1500usd per night…..
